ICSM missions have to meet energy issues in:
- Developping fondamental research in chemistry and physical chemistry, necessary for the rise of carbon-free energies in a world context of rarer natural resources.
- Developping a research into a sustainable nuclear industry and alternative energies where major advances in separation chemistry are required in order to save resources and recycle reusable materials (strategic metals).
- Integrating green principles of chemistry and engineering in developing for exemple ultrasound chemistry (sonochemistry) as well as alternative extraction processes in unusual media.
