ICSM PhD students' Day (18/04/2024)
ICSMThe April 5, 2024 event for PhD students was divided into three parts.
Firstly, former PhD students and ICSM staff gave talks on a number of possible career paths after their thesis. Clémentine Mansas, a former ICSM PhD student, presented her career path and described her job in industry. Members of ICSM then described the various CNRS jobs and lecturing positions, and explained how to apply for them.
In the second part, second-year PhD students were able to give a brilliant presentation on their thesis topic and ask a scientific question related to their subject. During lunch, first-year doctoral students had the opportunity to present their work in the form of posters to the entire ICSM staff.
To round off the day's events, the ICSM's PhD students presented two prizes:
• The prize for best oral presentation went to Erwann GUILLAM (second-year PhD student) from the Mesoscopic Modelling and Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory (LMCT) for his presentation on "Molecular prediction of free transfer enthalpies for extraction",
• The Best Poster Award went to Hélène BARBIER (first-year PhD student) from the Laboratory Study of Matter in Environmental Conditions (L2ME) for her poster on the "Multi-colloidal sol-gel route for the preparation of mixed-oxide nuclear fuel".
