Physico-chemical characterization

Mass spectrometer Hiden QGA 300

We have two configurations: 

• type S thermocouple (Pt/Pt-10%Rh) for analysis under air, nitrogen or argon,
• Tungsten thermocouple (W-5%Re / W-26%Re) for analysis under reducing atmospheres.  The latter is mainly used on uranium-based samples to control its oxidation degree and understand sintering mechanisms. 

This apparatus is coupled with a mass spectrometer to analyze the gases emitted by the samples.
